Accessibility Statement
Frame Notes Editorial is committed to keeping Frame Notes usable by everyone, including readers who navigate by keyboard, use a screen reader, magnify the page, or prefer reduced motion.
Conformance status
Frame Notes is fully conformant with WCAG 2.2 Level AA. Fully conformant means the content meets every applicable Level A and Level AA success criterion.
What we do
- Semantic headings, landmarks, and a skip-to-content link on every page.
- Full keyboard operation with a visible focus indicator on every control.
- Text contrast of at least 4.5:1, and 3:1 for large text, borders, and focus rings.
- Descriptive alternative text on every photograph, with captions and camera notes in the page text.
- Interactive targets of at least 44 × 44 CSS pixels, apart from links set inline in a run of prose.
- Animation and smooth scrolling disabled when your system asks for reduced motion.
- Archive filtering that works without JavaScript and announces its result count to screen readers.
How we test
Every route is audited with axe-core and Lighthouse at 375, 768, and 1280 px, then walked by keyboard and checked against the accessibility tree that screen readers consume. Photographs carried in an overlay are checked pixel-by-pixel so text stays legible over any frame.
Known limitations
The portfolio bar pinned above the site header belongs to dcrader.dev and is 34 px tall, so its controls clear the 24 × 24 px Level AA minimum but not the 44 px target used elsewhere on this site.
Feedback
If you hit a barrier, write to accessibility@framenotes.dcrader.dev. We respond within five business days.
